The Hypnosis of Creativity

When I was a kid growing up in Detroit, Michigan – a blue-collar city in the United States (reference for the many international readers) – I was in awe and marveled at my older brother’s talent for drawing. I could spend hours just perusing his sketch books of characters, animals and other renderings and his ability to capture through his hand creativity as though it were a photo. (He went on to have a successful career as an architect).  Yet, Creativity is not limited to what you may presume. When most think of creativity they think of creative modes of expression such as art, music, dance, prose or invention, however, Creativity is a much broader scope of context than the content it delivers.  The hypnosis of Creativity – Creativity’s power to program the brain – need not be limited to artistry per se.

Creativity at its root context is about the infinite potential life has to operate and express its nature. I often chuckle at the reporting of a new species of frog discovered in a rainforest or another variation of some other specie discovery making news because humans will never exhaust Life’s capacity to create and therefore, we will always be detecting yet another way Life’s creativity is witnessed.

So, what does this have to do with the expression of greater well-being of your health, career, businesses, abundance, relationships and esteem? Well, concisely – everything.  We are so programed to limit Life’s Creative Proposition to such a narrow band of options and possibilities that it is akin to humans being the cheesecloth that strains life’s creative potential to just a liquid semblance of its possibilities. (That’s quite a metaphor, huh? But it captures just how much we limit Life’s creative possibility).

We don’t have to wait or depend on scientific or medical “breakthroughs” (that often suffer from this same cheesecloth paradigm) to reveal greater well-being of the body. Nor do we have to limit the options by which Life can reveal (synchronize into fruition) options for satisfying employment realities and the healing of other matters.

We just make the decision to appreciate Life’s infinite capacity to create and regard that appreciation as a very practical matter. Enough already with giving lip-service to Infinity as a mere intellectual consideration! Infinite means just that: unlimited possibilities in a ‘field’ of unlimited possibilities! This consideration as a pragmatic accommodation expands the realized possibilities in your experience.

Let’s take employment for example – the typical considerations for gaining fruitful employment are generally reduced to four or five routes to secure said employment (LinkedIn, online employment post, an ‘inside’ industry connection, resume posting and the like). You’ve just ‘cheese-clothed-strained’ Infinity down to five options (!). 

Now from respecting (appreciating) Life’s Infinite creative capacity you don’t ignore common ways of realizing an objective – you just don’t limit yourself to them. In recognizing Life’s infinite creative capacity, you welcome (‘welcome’ is a very potent therapeutic word) the synchronization of life’s entire spectrum of possibilities in revealing appropriate employment. What appears as a ‘chance” encounter or conversation or lead can reflect this licensed creative synchronization.

As I often emphasize in therapy sessions, things don’t happen ‘magically’ in this regard but, rather, ‘naturally’ – as you expand your understanding awareness of what ‘natural” truly means. You don’t need to psychologically pin your hopes on magical thinking, conjuring or occurrences as you respectfully recognize that infinite means just that, “infinite.” Just as we will never run out of songs to create, we will never exhaust Life’s capacity to create on behalf of its creations (you)!

This profoundly liberating vantage point of Reality is a principle that applies to any and everything relevant to living a satisfying life. Recognize this “infinite synchronization” allowance regarding health, relationships, business, and in ways to be and make a difference on the planet.

Creativity is only limited by our perceptions of it.  Release the limited perceptions of it and you unleash its capacity to create through, for and as you. Be your own salvation – recognize in this moment’s breath that Life’s creative nature is revealing its unlimited bounty through, and as you, and witness the possibilities of your life no longer being on “lockdown.”
